Trashketball Figurative Language

Warm-Up Please grab a piece of paper and write your name on it.

Rules of Trashketball Stay in your seats at all times. A new team member will come to the board to have the chance to answer to each question. At your seats, you should be writing down your answers to the questions. Use this as a review, YOU WILL SEE SIMILAR QUESTIONS AGAIN If you are correct, your team will get the opportunity to shoot the ball into the trashcan from a 1, 2, or 3 point line. If the shot is made, the team gets an extra point Shots will be made after the question has been answered and discussed.

1 How are plot and episode related to each other?

Answer A plot is what happens or happened, and an episode is one event in or part of the story in the plot.

2 How can an author create imagery in writing?

Answer The author can use figurative language, sensory details, show not tell language, etc., to allow the reader to see vividly what she or he is writing.

3 What is foreshadowing?

Answer An event in the story that gives a hint about something that will happen later in the story.
