Recurring themes in band housing How do we get the tenants to pay rent? Chief and Council won’t evict or don’t support housing decisions. There’s no money for wages for housing staff. We don’t have any policies, or can’t enforce the policies we have. Our housing portfolio is chaos, how can we make it make sense? Since the program was launched on May 30th, 2017 Assisted over 3 dozen housing organizations with applications for funding, Provided 21 bands, with tools, templates, advice, guidance Facilitated 3 workshops and 5 webinars. Provided telephone and e-mail assistance over 100 times to band housing, band leadership and administrators and others who work for cities and municipalities between January and April, we were consulted by more than 40 bands and organizations looking for mentorship and support.
