In Tamil Nadu so far 41,348 houses have been constructed by the employers for the plantation workers. The Assistant Surgeons (Plantations) are responsible for the effective functioning of hospitals and dispensaries in plantations of Tamil Nadu (in addition to the Inspector of Plantations).

Contd:- The Government of Tamil Nadu have issued orders vide G.O.Ms.No.37, Labour and Employment Department, dated 30.4.2014, wherein it has been notified that every employer of plantation shall supply free of cost, to every worker/staff employed in the plantations, the materials specified therein, for their protection from rain or cold.
