Student Behaviors Be on time Be prepared Be ready to learn when class begins. I count tardies! Be prepared Have materials with you EVERY day Science Notebook (You will leave this in the classroom.) Laptop – charged! (You will not be able to use your phone as an alternative.) Pen/Pencil Student Planner (Paper, laptop, etc.) Paper No spinners, putty, slime, or other non-academic materials

Be polite. Be productive. Be a problem solver. When someone else is talking, you are not. If you don’t have something nice or productive to say, don’t say anything. Do not get out of your seat during instruction. Be productive. Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Use class time wisely. Be a problem solver. Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others – even if you don’t agree. Offer to help. Be responsible with property and belongings.***

Responsibility for Coursework Complete all assignments on time. You will have a zero in the grade book for assignments that are not turned in. Do your BEST on everything you turn in. Use your student planner to record assignments, due dates, and important information. Check Skyward regularly for missing work!!

Policies NO CELL PHONES! You have a laptop that can used for all technology needs. BEFORE you enter the classroom, place phone in your backpack. If I see your phone out, I will take it up and keep it in a locked cabinet. You may pick it up at the end of the day. I will send your parent an email that you had your phone out without permission. Do not ask if you can have your phone to listen to music while you work. The answer is NO.

STAY IN YOUR SEAT unless instructed otherwise. If you need a tissue, raise your hand. If you need supplies, raise your hand. If you have trash, raise your hand. If you have a question, raise your hand. No gum There will be NO perfumes, colognes or body spray (includes AXE and strong perfumed lotions) used in the classroom.

Absences It is YOUR responsibility to check with me for your assignments. If you miss a lab, you may be given an alternate assignment. Ask about make-up work before school, during tutoring or after school.

Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: Homework/Daily – 25% Quiz/Labs/Projects- 35% Tests–40% Grades are posted online Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C Below 70% = F Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

My Pledge to Students I will trust you until you give me reason not to. I will treat you like seventh graders as long as you are behaving like seventh graders. I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. I will promptly correct and offer feedback on your work. I will work with you to meet learning goals. I will offer extra help should you need it.
