Why Partial Credit Reflection? April 2005 – Pat Averbeck of Edmonds CC at MAA Used PCRs for a decade, both in the classroom and online. Fall 2014 – Highline’s participation in the Consortium to Promote Reflection in Engineering Education (CPREE) grant through the University of Washington. I was tired of students looking at their 73% on an exam and shoving it in their bag with a shrug, never to be looked at again.

Student Feedback Unhappy Student “I would eliminate the Partial Credit Request we had to complete for each exam. If we did not go through our graded exam and explain the errors we made for each wrong answer, we would receive 0% on our exam grade. Perhaps this assignment could be beneficial to some and be offered as an optional assignment to boost a grade, but requiring it for a simple error that doesn’t need explanation is frustrating and a waste of time.”
