Interactive Notebooks By Mrs. T

Your Brain Our brain, like the rest of our anatomy, is made up of two halves, a left brain a right brain. You interactive notebook is set up in a similar way Left Side or “Output”: used for processing new ideas. Use this side to understand material with illustrations, reflections, poetry, colors, review, etc Right Side or “Input”: used for recording class notes, discussion notes, reading notes, outlines, graphic organizes, etc.

Number your pages Skip the first page and then number your pages in the top right hand corner from 1-20 Skipped Page: At the top write “Cover Page” Page 1-3 will be used for your Table of Contents Show the example Mrs. T!!

Time to Glue…. When you glue papers into your notebook make sure they are cut to size by using scissors! There should not be excess papers hanging out of the your notebook The Cover Page Should have a COLORFUL illustration of something that represents Language Arts to you. The Table of Contents (TOC) should always be updated! There should never be any blank pages in your interactive notebook! Remember odd numbered pages (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) should be on the right Remember even numbered pages (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) should be on the left If these guidelines are not followed then points will be deducted. You will have a Notebook Check every two weeks.

Now its time to work on that Cover Page!!
