Week 1 10th grade science

Welcome Back! Please learn where you will be sitting and go there Get out one of your spiral bound notebooks so we can set up your interactive notebook.

On the Cover Get a sharpie and write on the front… Your Name 10th grade science Mr. Weeks Sage International School 2015-2016

On the Back Cover About the author page; please include… Your Name Paragraph about yourself. Goals, interests, etc. Depiction of a hobby Depiction of Physics Picture of yourself Random awesomeness; favorite poem, inspiring quote, SUPERHEROES!

Appendices Starting on the back of the last page in your notebook glue in graph criteria. On the last double page spread of your notebook please glue in “The Left Side” page and “The Right Side” page on their respective sides Right Side Left Side But you already knew that….

Table of Contents Count five pages in the beginning of your notebook to leave blank for the table of contents. Title the first page “Table of Contents” Divide the page into two halves by drawing a line down the center and label the sides left side & right side.

Numbering the Pages Starting with the page after the table of contents (should be a right side) put a number one in the upper outside corner or the lower outside corner. Right sides have odd number pages Left sides have even number pages Number to page 20

Unit Cover page Unit Title – Kinematics (page one) Three questions you would like to have answered during the unit. A “What I know” statement explaining what you already know about this unit. Unit: Nature of Science   My Questions: Why does science need evidence? Why don’t we know all the answers? Will we ever know all the answers? What I already know: I know that science has a method. Scientists can work in labs. Science can lead to new discoveries.

Unit One Essentials Create a Unit 1 “Must Do’ page and an entry in your table of contents. Create a Unit 1 “WWK” page and an entry in you table of contents.

Science Safety Contract As your first homework assignment Please take home a science safety contract and read it with your parents and sign it. Bring me your signed Science safety contract on Monday Next week.
