SUMMARY CHALLENGES OF CLTS Co-existence of Subsidies Sustainability of sanitation infrastructures. Sustainability of hygiene behavior change Monitoring and follow up of ODF WASH activities at district/ chiefdom/ community levels. Lack of adequate skilled staff to facilitate effective CLTS. Appropriate technologies for all communities Having CLTs at scale and climbing sanitation ladder Lack of national approved CLTS guidelines

Way forward/recommendations to Sustain CLTS Benefits Approved national CLTS guidelines Sanitation stock taking forum Scale up to cover entire country Long term investment on behavior change communication in ODF communities. Mainstreaming sanitation monitoring and follow ups into WASH line ministries routine monitoring activities district / chiefdom/ communities levels

Current Measures to Sustain and improve on CLTS Political will (Presidential Post Ebola recovery-10-24mths) Current Arrangement/Prospect for Sustenance of Programme Benefits Sanitation marketing and appropriate technologies Consistent behaviour change promotion by natural leaders and other health care workers (CHWS). Communities monitoring / follow ups and reprimands in ODF communities

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSIONS What is our perception of CLTS What have we captured from CLTS What do we think we can include to improve on CLTS(+) Do we All see the need for a National CLTS Guidelines. What is it we all can do together for a holistic framework and a roadmap in addressing a sustainable CLTS?
