Market Research

Fun Facts There are over 17,500 museums in the United States. 850 million visitors pay tribute to these locations. All museums according to American Association of Museum are defined by a building in which objects of historical, scientific, artistic or cultural interest are stored and exhibited. Texas Discovery Garden by definition is a museum since it provides exhibits of artistic and cultural interest. The American Association of Museums notes that for each visitor a museum receives, it loses $24.40 on average.

Industry

Industry cont. cost for museum admission is $7, but a third charge of no admission at all. The median earned income is $7.22 per visitor. The median cost of serving a visitor is $31.40. A museum’s earned income generates only about one-third of this amount. Private charitable donations are the largest source of operating income for museums (about 35%). Government funding provides just under 25%, and investment income about 10%.

With 7.7 percent growth during 2010, organic food outpaced the growth of conventional food which is estimated at $673 billion food industry in 2010 Experiencing the most growth, organic fruits and vegetables, which represent 39.7 percent of total organic food value, and nearly 12 percent of all U.S. fruit and vegetable sales, reached nearly $10.6 billion in 2010, up 11.8 percent from 2009 performance.

Educational Industry Total elementary and secondary school enrollment increased 10% between 1994 and 2007 and is projected to increase an additional 6% between 2007 and 2019. Enrollment in prekindergarten through grade 8 increased 5% between 1994 and 2007 and is projected to increase an additional 9% between 2007 and 2019. With the growing number of students and a growing organic market, we can combine the fields and create a new market to educate. This merge will provide assistance to both parties.
