Aims of the lesson Development of lexical and grammatical skills. Development of speaking skills. Enrichment of pupils’ vocabulary. Making pupils think about consciously desire of getting new knowledge.

Plan of the lesson Hello, boys and girls. Today we are going to speak about countries and nationalities. Before, I want you to ask some questions: What date is it today? What day is it today? What season is it now? What month is it now? How is the weather? How are you?

1. Phonetic trainning Now, let’s pronounce following words and divide them into 2 groups: Group of sound [u:] and group of sound [u] Cool, pool, food, mood, spoon, room, cook, look, good, broom, roof, moon, hood, spoon, bloom, hook, foot.

2. Checking home work At home you had to learn words. 1. Now, please, let’s check it in pairs. Your task is to check each other and give an estimates. 2. There are Russian equivalents of words on the blackboard. You should write English equivalents. (task for one pupil, others check in first way)
