Critiquing the Musical

Five Paragraph Essay This is to be a 5 paragraph paper and is to include: An introductory paragraph stating the three points to be made (Acting, Music, and Choreography). Make a thesis statement in thesis paragraph they you will support in the following paragraphs. Thesis= Your opinion! A paragraph for each area and 2 points of supporting evidence ( use specific examples from the musical) for area. A Concluding paragraph - summing up the points.

Specific? YES! BE Specific. Use character names and actor’s names. Describe the scene or song you are talking about. Use specific song titles. Make sure you have 2 points that support your argument. Be constructive when you critique, not mean. Do not be vague! TREAT THIS LIKE A PAPER YOU WOULD WRITE IN LA/LIT!

Example     Starlight Express by Libertyville High School was very well done. The students brought the show to life and captivated the audience. My review is based on attending tech rehearsal and the Thursday performance. The show’s plot was interesting, but confusing at times. The acting was good, and I was especially impressed by the lead actors. The music was very good, but difficult to hear at times.  The choreography was amazing. Overall, I really enjoyed seeing this version of Starlight Express.
