Welcome to First Semester!!! Monday September 11, 2017

Classroom Norms Classroom Norms: Those behavioral standards that are expected of all members of the classroom community, adults and students.

Respect Show respect for the teachers, yourself and others at all times. Respect others’ property. Please pick-up after yourself. I wouldn’t expect you to clean-up after me. Respect yourself and the rest of us by using appropriate language. Be a kind person.

Cell Phones Turn off cell phones & electronic devices Electronic devices (CD players, iPods, handheld games, mini-TVs or personal DVD players, cell phones, pagers, etc.) are NOT permitted during instructional time. Cell Phones should be silenced and invisible during instructional time. If I see or hear your phone we will ask you to put it in the phone box. Refusal to turn over the cell phone will be treated as insubordinate behavior and a call to Neil will be made.

Cell Phones No cell phones during instructional time, period! However, during independent work time you may have your phones-out and listen to music. Remember to manage your independent work time wisely and not let your cell phone be a distraction. You are allowed to charge your phone in the classroom in the outlets in the back of the room by the teacher’s desk.

Excellence is Expected Put forth your best effort. Put learning ahead of getting good grades. Anyone can get an A in this class. Put quality ahead of just getting it done. Please know I will demand the same expectations as in the real world. Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Arrive to class on time & ready to learn. Be “physically” and “mentally” present in the classroom. You will be marked tardy if you are not in the room when bell rings. You will be marked absent if you are fifteen minutes late.

~Do-not- line- up~ Please do not line up at the door before dismissal. Please do not start packing up until 2 minutes before the bell rings. I will let you know when you can start packing up! Please remain in your seat until you have been dismissed.

Three strikes and you are out ! Next, e-mail home. Phone-call home. Consequences Three strikes and you are out ! Next, e-mail home. Phone-call home. Referral ! Detention !
