Vesanto

General information Area: 569,70 km² Population: 2288 (in 2013) Vesanto is located in central Finland, in northern Savonia.

The nearest city is Kuopio, about 80 km from Vesanto. It´s a very small rural village. The main industry is farming which employs the third of citizens.

Surroundings We have lots of lakes and forests here. There are many places and events related to sports in Vesanto, e.g. gym, sports field and different sorts of competitions. In the winter you can go iceskating or skiing.

We have a sharecropper museum, where you can learn about the old-fashioned lifestyle in Finland. For youth there is a place called “Yökahvila” where you can spend freetime.

Our library

Events In the summer there is a football competition called “Reiska world championship”. The players must wear slippers and the ball is a light childrend's ball. The teams come from all over Finland and some even from abroad. There are also many music events, competitions and concerts around the year.
