Important Dates/Reminders Reading / Writing Shared Reading: we will continue using big books to learn our concepts of print while we pay attention to punctuation and sight words. Reader’s Workshop: Students will continue learning facts from non-fiction books. Fundations: We are learning our digraphs! (sh,th,ch,wh,-ck) Read Aloud: This month’s skill is fluency. Writing: we are using what we know and non-fiction texts to write All-About books Math In the Everyday Math Program (EDM), students will engage in activities that will further their exploration of addition and subtraction. We will be writing and solving number stories, and using strategies to help us add, subtract and estimate. We will also keep exploring 3D shapes. Continue practicing counting to 100, skip counting, and writing numbers at home! Science/SS/ Health Science: we will continue learning about shadows. Social Studies: the focus for April is seasons and holidays. Health: we will be learning about how to keep our bodies and minds safe. Important Dates/Reminders April 5: BOGO Book Sale April 10-14 : School Closed (Spring Recess) April 19: End of 3rd MP
