Indianapolis Colts By Cole

Why I chose the Colts I chose to do my project on the Indianapolis Colts because they are my favorite NFL team. I also chose the Colts because I wanted to find out a little more about them.

About the Colts The Indianapolis Colts are located in Indianapolis, Indiana. They are an NFL team. They play every week except one in the regular season. They have to have a good record to go to the playoffs. The Colts are a member of the South Division of the American Football Conference. (AFC) The Colts were officially founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1953. There name was the Baltimore Colts.

About Lucas Oil Stadium The stadium is located in downtown Indianapolis. It opened on August 24, 2008. The stadium replaced the RCA Dome. It hosted the 2012 Super Bowl. (Super Bowl XLVI)

The Players who got Released The Colts had some of the best players in the NFL get cut. First it was Peyton Manning. Then two days later it was Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, Gary Brackett, Melvin Bullitt, and Curtis Painter.

About the Owner Colts owner Jim Irsay was born on June 13th 1959 in Lincolnwood, Illinois.(he is 52 years old) Jim Irsay is the son of Robert Irsay. Robert Irsay was the owner of the Indianapolis Colts before his son Jim. Jim Irsay says the reason he let go of all those players was not because of the money but because the Colts are rebuilding.

Their Last Super Bowl Win Super Bowl XLI- In Super Bowl XLI the Colts played the Bears. The Bears had a 14 to 6 lead over the Colts in the first quarter. The second quarter was all Colts. They scored 10 points. The Bears 0. In the third quarter the Colts scored 6 and the Bears scored 3. So after three quarters of play the Colts were ahead of the Bears 22 to 17. In the fourth quarter the Colts scored 7 points and the Bears scored 0 points. The Colts won the Super Bowl. The final score was 29 to 17.

The Colt’s last Super Bowl Appearance The Colt’s last Super Bowl appearance was 2 years ago against the Saints. It was Super bowl XLIV. (44) The Colts lost that game 31-17. People thought that Peyton let them win just because he was from New Orleans but he didn’t.

The Colt’s Logo What you see on the Colts helmets when they play is their logo. Their logo is a horseshoe. The horseshoe is on the helmet that is in the middle of he field.

Future Quarterback Last season the Colts only won 2 games. They had the worst record so that means they get the number 1 pick in the NFL draft. The Colts are probably going to pick Andrew Luck. Andrew Luck is a Quarterback and since the Colts don’t have Peyton then they are going to pick Andrew Luck. At least that’s what the ESPN people say.

New Coach The Colt’s new coach was defensive coordinator at Baltimore. His name is Chuck Pagano. They hired him on January 26. Their old coach was Jim Caldwell.
