There is used: To make a statement To describe a place

There 1. ‘There’ is used to make a statement: eg. There is a football match later on. 2. ‘There’ is used to describe a place: eg. The football match will happen over there.

A way to remember ‘there’… To remember that ‘there’ refers to a place, remember that ‘there’ has the word ‘here’ in it. Is she here yet? Yes, she’s over there.
