‘Life of an Anglo Saxon/Viking’ Aims: To give children a deeper insight into the lives of those in Saxon and Viking times. Promote and develop independence Learn to care for themselves Develop team work

Accommodation In The Manor House; - cloakroom - children's dormitories - en suite toilets and showers - staff rooms

The Manor House Accommodation block Room 4 = 8 beds Room 11 = 6 beds Rooms 8 & 11 can have z beds. Children’s dormitories – rooms sleeping between 4 and 8 Bedrooms on 2 floors (will be sectioned boys at one end and girls at another) with teachers rooms spread out

The outside area Set in large grounds of the Manor House Large open spaces – children will be supervised at all times

Itinerary 7.45 Arrive at school Register, hand in money and medicine. 8.15 Leave school Stop on way – toilets, drink and snack 12.00 Arrive at centre, eat packed lunch, unpack, make beds 13.30 – 14.45 14.45 – 16.00 Whole group activity: Team Building 16.00 Free time – play outside if weather good Time in rooms if weather bad 17.30 Dinner 18.30 Evening Activity: Night Walk in Hooke Woods 20.00 Get ready for bed 20.30 Bedtime 21.00 Lights out

Itinerary 7.00 Wake up , shower and dress 7.45 Breakfast, followed by free time 9.30 – 12.00 Saxon Day: Cooking/Jewellery making/Weaving/Runes/Wattle and Daub 12.30 Lunch 13.30 – 16.00 16.00 Free time – play outside if weather good. Time in rooms if weather bad 17.30 Dinner 18.30 Evening Activity – Viking Saga around the campfire 20.00 Get ready for bed 20.30 Bedtime 21.00 Lights out Breakfast is cereals and toast. Lunch is always a packed style lunch Dinner is a cooked meal.

Food Packed Lunch for first day – children to bring this with them, as well as a drink and snack for when we stop on the way.

Kit List Please see the detailed list in your information pack. Children need to be prepared for November/December weather. Many activities inside but some will be outside and there will obviously be opportunity for free time outside if weather is reasonable. Children can bring up to £5 pocket money in a labelled purse. Please hand this in on the Wednesday check-in. PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING! YOU MAY NOT GET IT BACK OTHERWISE! £5 pocket money for tuck shop – sweets (this will be limited!) plus Tudor accessories.

What not to bring Electronic games Mobile phones Expensive cameras.

Medical Staff at Hooke Court are First Aid trained. The night duty manager is also a first aider. Please ensure that the medical forms have all been returned. Please hand medicines in at check in.
