Competition

Overview Source Theme: Collegiate basketball Summary: The robot must follow three lines that have different shooting points and line shape and then fire a dart from the shooting point at a target. Winners will be decided by number of points earned by completing goals and completion time. The highest scoring robots will be both speedy and precise.

Target

Robot Must fit into 1’x1’x2’ (L W H) space Must be able to cover a 3”x 3” area Allowed to carry only 3 darts loaded at the beginning of each round Must comply with a remote start - Start signal is the illumination of a 3 by 3 grid of green LEDs embedded below the starting location No communication allowed

Restrictions No chemical propellants No pressure above 50psi Must qualify to compete by moving from the starting position on the main line for 1 ft All robots are held “up front” at the beginning of each heat---there are 3 heats The robot must go to the shooting blocks in order of their distance from the starting box

Scoring 25 pts if the robot moves at all 50 pts for the first correct stop on each shooting block - Must cover the shooting block for 3 or more sec 300 pts for the first shot from each correct shooting block that makes it through the hoop 25 pts if the robot stops at the end of the main line before time is up 1 bonus pt for each sec left in the heat after the bot has made at least 1 successful shot and is stopped at the end of the main line
