Presentation transcript:

2018 Medical Plans Comparison Tools and Resources Marist College offers the choice of two Aetna medical plans, both of which are similar to the plan design offered prior to 2018. The choice of two plans versus “one size fits all” lets you decide which plan is best for you and your family. Decision tools and resources are provided in this Comparison Tools and Resources guide. Updated Nov. 03 2017

IN-Network Services Comparison-2018 Prescription Plan Design This snapshot is provided as a high level comparison of in-network member cost share under the Marist Plans. Before making your plan choice, you should refer to your Plan Summaries, Aetna Plan Selection & Estimator Tool, and Advocacy Services. Marist Care Legacy Plan Marist Care Plan IN-Network Services Comparison-2018 Preventive care $0 0% Deductible $1,000 Coinsurance 10% after deductible Annual out-of-pocket maximum $1,500 $2,000 Office visit ** $15.00 $30.00 ** Specialist office visit ** $25.00 $45.00 ** Prescription drugs CVS Copays Urgent care $35.00 $50.00 ** Hospital Admission $100 Emergency room $100.00 ** X-rays *, complex imaging * If performed as a part of a physician office visit and billed by the physician, expenses are covered subject to the applicable physician's office visit member cost sharing. ** Claim cost include preventive and copay based services which would not be subject to the deductible. Prescription Plan Design Rx Tier In-Network Only Marist Care Legacy Marist Care Retail Generic $10 Brand Formulary $25 Retail Non-Formulary $50 Retail Specialty Mail Retail Generic (90-day) $20 Mail Brand Formulary (90-day) Mail Retail Non-Formulary (90-day) Mail Retail Specialty (90-day) Plan Comparison Snapshot Important Terms Deductible This is fixed dollar amount which must be satisfied before Aetna will pay for certain services (applies only to non-copay based services). Coinsurance A dollar amount as a stated percentage of allowable charges that you pay after deductible is met. Applies to non-copay based services. Out-Of-Pocket Maximum The most a member pays in a plan year before Aetna begins to pay 100% of allowed amounts (This maximum payment limit includes deductible, coinsurance, and copay amounts). Notice This high level snapshot comparison depicts basic differences between two offered medical plans. This displays in-network member responsibility. “Employee-only” cost sharing limits are represented in this example. For information on “Employee+Child(ren)” and other tier limits, and out-of-network cost sharing details, carefully review the Plan Summaries above. Because medical costs vary by health care professional and facility and because not every detail of each health plan is factored into the snapshot, your actual costs may vary from the results presented here.
