Today’s Agenda Activity 3.17 – Analyzing Satirical Cartoons Activity 3.18 – “Girls Moved to Tears” pp 233 Draw your own satirical cartoons OBJECTIVE: Students will identify the elements of satire in a satirical cartoon. Analyze the impact of ridicule on the perception of a writer’s subject.

Analyze Satirical cartoons GROUP: Analyze one of the two cartoons on the front page of the packet. What is funny? What is not-so-funny? THIS IS MORE THAN WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURE!) Who is the target? INDIVIDUAL: Select two of the remaining four cartoons and analyze on your own. What is not-so-funny?
