Motion. Introduction We use the word ‘rest’ very often. For example, when someone is doing no work or lying on the bed, we often say that the person is.
Lesson 2 1. Angles can be measured in both degrees & radians : The angle  in radians is defined as the arc length / the radius For a whole circle, (360°)

7. Motion & Types Of Motion By:- Sou.Sutar M. N. (B.A.D.Ed.)

* Types Of Motion :- Linear Motion Oscillatory Motion Periodic Motion Random Circulatory

1) Linear Motion : - Motion in only one direction is called linear motion. Ex.- A bullockcart moving in one direction. A line of ants. 1) 2)

i) Uniform Linear Motion : - Motion in which a specific distance is being covered in a particular period , is called uniform linear motion. Ex. :- Soldiers marching in a parade.

ii) Non – uniform Linear Motion :- Motion that continuously changes its speed is called non-uniform linear motion. Ex.:- Leaping of frog. 2) Swimming of fish.

3) Oscillatory Motion :- A back & forth repetitive motion is called oscillatory motion. Ex. :- A girl swinging on the swing. 2) See-saw 3) The movement of bird’s wings.

4) Periodic Motion :- When a moving object passes through a certain point at regular intervals of time, its motion is called periodic motion. Ex. : The movement of hands of the clock. 2) The motion of the earth around the sun.

5) Random Motion :- Motion whose direction changes continuously is called random motion. Ex. :- A butterfly flits from flower to flower. 2) The motion of football players on the field. 3) The motion of a baby crawling.

6) Circular Motion :- The motion along a circle is called circular motion. Ex. :- The motion of a top. The motion of wheels of a bicycle. The turning of the merry-go-round. 4) The motion of blades of fan.

* Speed :- The time taken by an object to cover a distance between two points is known as speed of the object. Speed = Distance Time Unit of speed :- In M.k.s. system – m/sec In C.G.S. system – cm/sec

THANK YOU.
