Benefits For the patient - eliminates cumbersome application procedure making the process easier and faster. After a trip/call to the doctor’s office the permit will simply arrive in the mail. For city clerks – eliminates process/cost that was provided at no cost to the patient
Benefits For Medical Professional - Eliminates the paper application and time spent completing by hand and photocopying Provides for a record keeping process that interfaces with electronic records system Eliminates the need for re-production of forms if lost or misplaced Eliminates mailing costs completed forms mailed to patient No enrollment process necessary
Collaboration Legislature – to write and pass legislation Portal partner – to design, develop, implement, & house data for online service (no cost to DMV) DHHS – use medical and DEA license databases for authentication purposes and mailing lists, publish notices in newsletter Nebraska Medical Association – to check concept, publish notices in newsletter
