THE UNITED NATIONS The United Nations was created to bring the world’s nations together, helping with issues that impact every country. They work together on international law, security, economic rights, and human rights Economic: The International Monetary Fund helps keep exchange rates stable and assists countries with financial crises. The UN also runs the World Bank which helps countries with debt with a goal to eliminate poverty. Social: Many different social movements and organizations under the UN. Their goal is to secure human rights for all people and ensure world peace. Political: The UN serves as the mediator for countries that are going through disputes. They have their own police force, the Security Council, and Justice system as well as a set of universal laws for war and human rights. Environmental: Environmental issues such as climate change and preserving ecosystems are handled by the UN. On top of that, they also help regulate pollution laws, assist with environmental damage and respond to emergencies caused by pollution.

THE UNITED NATIONS Countries that are members of the United Nations benefit in different ways from the organization. From being granted loans to help poverty or stepping in when wars break out, the many programs the UN offers a variety of advantages. Since the United Nations affects all corners of the world, it impacts each region in different ways. For example, the World Bank and social organizations grant more assistance to African nations to eliminate poverty and disease. In Asia, they work with China and India’s immense populations and mediate North Korea’s nuclear programs The world would be a different place without the United Nations. Countries would not be willing to meet and work through their issues. Other nations would suffer from humanitarian crises or wide- spread poverty. Others would go to war on a whim with no peaceful resolution. Work Cited: http://www.un.org/en/index.html
