What is Parent Council? All parents are members of Parent Forum Parent Council is the committee group which represents the Parent Forum Composed of 1 or 2 reps for each class in the school The role of Parent Council is to: Act as communication link between parents and school, local authority and wider community Discuss matters of interest: school policies etc Organise fundraising and social events

2016/2017 Summary Represented parents on the Rising School Rolls group Provided input into new homework policy Talked about Religious Observance – what this looks like at Stockbridge Introduced Bulletins – one page summary of Parent Council meetings, giving parents faster and briefer information Developed and promoted parent guide to dealing with head lice What we did

2016/2017 Summary Gave input to Head Teacher on ways to use Pupil Equity funding to help close the poverty related attainment gap Encouraged parental involvement in school activities and the Parent Council Undertook a communications health check considering how we communicate with families Attended North Edinburgh Cluster parent group Linked with other Parent Councils to share information about fundraising What we did
