Conflict in horror By: Megan

FYI or For Your Information... Throughout this presentation I will go through conflict in horror and just conflict in general. Also, the big question will finally be answered, Is conflict always bad? Keep reading/watching to find the answer!

Who is the conflict against? In most horror movies and books the people are in a conflict with the evil spirit that is trying to kill, injure, or scare the people. Sometimes though it is against themselves because they are really scared or freaked out and they sometimes end up dead.

Where does it happen? Most of the time the story takes place in a creepy or dark place. It also almost always takes place at night. Usually the person is alone or very few people are with them.

What types of characters are there? The characters are usually kids or young adults. Sometimes the characters are adults or elderly but not as often as teenagers or children. There are never a lot of people evolved in horror stories because they are mostly alone or just with one or two other people.

What is the genre? Most horror books/films are fictional. That means the setting, plot, characters, ect. are almost always made up. This is important so you know that the story or film is fiction and not realistic.

So, is conflict always bad? Conflict is not always bad. It helps to find out who or what is the problem. It forces you to think of a solution and how to resolve it. This is a good skill to master. This way you know how to resolve conflict in your life. It will help you with your family and at work or any other place that conflict might occur. If you can deal with conflict easily, you may be more successful in life. FINALLY!
