PURPOSE To promote the active participation and philanthropic endeavor of Health Sciences students in the Kansas City Metropolitan area To promote health education To provide academic assistance for Bachelor's of Health Sciences students To provide opportunities to utilize leadership, organizational, and cooperative skills within and around the Society.

HOW TO BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER Must earn 10 points per academic year (5 per semester) to become an active member This includes: Attending a general meeting = 1 point Volunteering at a BHS Society Event = 2 points Attending a BHS Society Event = 1 point Being an “active member” means: You are an ambassador for the BHS program and BHS Society You are involved and committed to participating in BHS Society activities You are a leader both inside and outside the classroom

Elections – Positions (1/4) Faculty Steering Purpose Provide leadership and facilitate decision making of the Faculty Assembly and serve as liaison to faculty, staff, and administration. Meets 2nd Weds of the month from 12:30-2:30 PM

Elections – Positions (2/4) Curriculum Committee Purpose Design, develop, and evaluate nursing curricula for all programs and present recommendations to Faculty Assembly and/or Dean when appropriate. Meets 3rd Weds of the month from 12:30-2:30 PM

Elections – Positions (3/4) Student Affairs Committee Purpose Develop and implement policies and procedures related to student academic and conduct performance, including decisions related to admission, progressiion, and graduation from all programs Committee meets 4th Weds of the month from 12-2 PM

Elections – Positions (4/4) Program Evaluation Committee Program To plan and implement processes that provide ongoing assessment and continuous quality improvement of the organizational procedures, products, activities, personnel, and resources of the SoNHS Committee meets 1st Weds of the month from 9:30- 11 AM
