What is LEDS GP? LEDS GP is a network of public and private practitioners and institutions delivering Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) – locally, nationally and internationally LEDS GP has a growing membership including: Over 118 countries Over 350 institutions Thousands of individual practitioners working in national or subnational governments.

LEDS GP enables institutions and practitioners to collaborate, coordinate, and cooperate, to: progress LEDS and Nationally Determined Contributions in concrete, practical ways increase ambition in mitigation and development outcomes spur new LEDS by additional national and subnational governments create how-to capacity among its members innovate together to overcome challenges.

LEDS GP operates through a network of four vibrant regional platforms

Five thematic Working Groups support the regional platforms: Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) Energy Finance Subnational Integration of LEDS Transport Benefits (potential re-launch in 2018)

The LEDS GP provides: Peer learning, technical training, and exchange via workshops, communities of practice, and webinars Early mover technical assistance and Remote Expert Assistance on LEDS and NDCs Case studies, tools, and data on NDC & LEDS implementation and planning issues

Examples of Deeper Activities in 2017 Private Investment Mobilization Assistance and Finance Community of Practice Mini-Grids Early Mover Support and Community of Practice Climate Modeling and LEDS Planning Support Bioelectricity Early Mover Support and Community of Practice Renewable Energy Grid Integration Early Mover Support and Community of Practice Transport Early Mover Support and Community of Practice Multi-Level Governance Early Mover Support and Community of Practice Fourth, one of the most impactful services offered by the LEDS GP is its quick response expert advisory support which has been delivered to over 40 countries This support is available on sector policies and measures, finance instruments and strategies, coordinated sub-national and national action and planning, and impact assessment. Several examples are shown on this slide
