Presentation transcript:

Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown. Newsletter Reception Class 28th April 2017 Literacy This week we have been learning that information can be retrieved from the internet. We have been talking about what we would like to do when we grow up. We have then been researching this profession on the internet. We have also been writing our own question to ask our class visitors. I was very impressed with how well everyone listened and participated in the discussions. Well done! This week we have really enjoyed learning about the people that help us in school. We have had some special visitors in our classroom including Mrs. Parkinson the school Receptionist and Mr. Wilkinson the school Caretaker. We also went on a visit to the school kitchens to visit the school cooks. Next week we will be learning about the profession of a vet and how to care and look after animals. Phonics This week we have been revising all Phase 3 sounds and tricky words. We have also learnt some Phase 4 tricky including have and like. Our focus this week has been on reading all long sounds in words. Maths This week we have been focusing on number formations, counting sets of objects and writing number sentences. The children have also enjoyed participating in an outdoor practical Math's of the Day lesson. Notices . If any parents would like to come into school and talk about their job/profession it would be greatly appreciated and enjoyed by the children. If you are interested please see me before or after school so we can arrange a date and time. Homework: Please can everyone complete the activity in their Learning Together books. Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown.
