Getting Started – Sr. Cpts Information & Paperwork Warm Up Information Congrats to all – placed 3rd place at Northfield! Paperwork Registration – Winona Cotter If you CANNOT compete at Sections, I need to know TODAY! If you cannot present for Showcase, I need to know today. Rate/Rank Forms – keep filling these in after each meet Brought to you by Coach Lyke!

Cotter Meet Info. – Lyke Be here at 6:50 a.m. Bus leaves at 7 a.m. 3 Rounds and Finals No Novice divisions (sorry) Bring a lunch or money for lunch Home around 5:15 – 5:45 Everyone should be “off script” (This means your speech is fully memorized.) Continue to dress professionally

Cotter, Cont. – Adam Draw categories: you will draw from ALL stories and/or topics – you will draw for EACH round ** No WIFI/Internet for Ex Spk & Disco Discussion: Personal/Individual – Section 3 Awards: 3:15 (approximately) – Auditorium Stay dressed up until after awards CLEAN UP! Please clean up our area in the cafeteria and auditorium when we visit schools

Cotter Schedule – Adam 7:45-8:15 a.m. Team Registration No schedule has been provided. Assume close to other meets. TIMING: Round I: ER, ES, STY, Duo, and DI. Round II: Poe, Pro, OO, GrSp, Inf. Round III: Hi and CrX Finals: ALL CATEGORIES The timers will stand at seven or 10 minutes (category dependent). Finish the sentence you are on. No worries. Storytellers and Extemp. Speakers – you are allowed one final sentence/concluding statement after time is shown.

Big 9 Information — Adam Tuesday, March 21st 39 entries – Big 9 Rules – ALL COMPETITORS CHECK IN WITH NIELAND BY 3RD HOUR! Excused from 8th hour (the WHOLE team is excused) @ Mayo H.S. – CAREFULLY Drive there – BE THERE BY 2:30 – Park in Teachers’ lot – Enter Door 3 – head to cafeteria Need a ride? See Nieland today! 3 rounds – No finals Awards – 8:30ish – Parents/Family are invited. Have rides pick you up at MAYO! If you are SICK/CANNOT compete you must contact NIELAND by 9:00 AM on Tuesday!

Practices this Week – Lyke Due to Timecards being used at Cotter… We’ll be practicing with timecards starting today, and will continue through the end of the season Due to Big 9 on Tuesday… If you practice on Tuesdays with Nieland/Lyke, reschedule this week’s practices with your coach (if you’ve not already done so) Due to Lyke being double booked on Thursday… If you practice Thursdays with Lyke, reschedule your practice time with Lyke/Nieland/Adam

Section Team – Lyke Limited again to 39 entries Section Team will be announced Monday, March 27 – NOT necessarily the same as the Big 9 team Considerations: Success this season Practice and meeting attendance Dedication Age

Guest Coach Practices – Lyke We’ve two weeks with this structure: March 28th - 30th April 3rd - 5th This applies only to those on the SECTION TEAM Section Team Speakers must practice at least twice each of these weeks: Once with Coach Nieland/Lyke/Adam Once with a Guest Coach Sign-up online starting Friday the 24th: sign-up doc. will be in the Super Secret Speech folder

Before our last activity – Sr. Capt. Dress up for tomorrow: the entire day Get some rest tonight! – At least 8 hours! Be “ON” for Round I Set aside stressors from the school day Run through you speech a few times Power Pose for 2+ minutes Remember & recite your mantra Team Warm Up @ 2:45 Have FUN! Will do at the next meeting.

Mix It Up Day! – Sr. Capt. Meet with your assigned group. Present 5 minutes of your speech Disco people – explain what you do Provide feedback – Positive and constructive If someone is missing from your group, go with who is here or combine groups (if you combine: groups should consist of 4 speakers at most) Will do at the next meeting!
