What is a Project? It is a study It is a gradual changes (work) to a specific study It measures student’s performance within the framework of the group . (why?) It must be written to mention changes that have occurred Student’s work is evaluated to his or her contribution to the project work

Problem Formulation Beginning with a general idea then narrowed down to a topic which can be specified (Concrete problem) It is a complicated process (Why?) Because group members are different they argues for and against different ideas, topics and solution to the problem To overcome this situation group member should use Brainstorming

Brainstorming It means that group write down all ideas and thoughts which might be relevant to the topic according to a specific time. They could use “chalkboard” for ideas inspiration

Problem Formulation (cont…) It is important to spend time on problem formulation (what is the problem and how to solve it)if not then disagreements between group members may result It is very important to specify which point of view the group is going to take to know the project path and to be able to partition work between members

Group Work Groups are organized and formed with members interested in same topic Draw a schedule for the project which contains the tasks and time for each task according to the deadline Meetings (as many as possible) 1. When to meet ? 2. Where? (according to group needs) 3. About what?

Meetings Advantages: All members know at which point the project is and where it is going Absentees stay informed Tips: Each meeting must have an outline in order to be managed Make checklist for all the thing that need to be prepared for the next meeting Don’t forget to take breaks (every hour from 10 to 5 min) to renew concentration and strength.

Group Work Problems: Differences (need tolerance)(we are not best friends) Conflicts (lead to poor working environment) Solutions: Be open and honest to discuss problems to reach a compromise Dedicate a meeting to solve social tensions Involve the advisor If nothing is working then exclusion from group “red card” but this decision must be reached from all the members lastly.
