Cooperation Statistics Norway – UDI – Directorate of Taxes PIN was included in UDI’s registers 1991 With assistance from Statistics Norway Statistics Norway encouraged sustainable contact between UDI and the Tax Administration 1990’s Statistics Norway participated in the planning of new database (UDB) 1998 Now: The cooperation between UDI and the Directorate of Taxes is self-propelled. The newest history and the present The planning of a new population registration system started in 2011 with work groups, several meetings and a lot of participants The Modernisation project is in progress 2016-2020 A hearing on the information model and variables in the new register 2016 Closing date on the questionnaire is 15 April 2016 Bilateral meetings with selected users will be arranged Will be the main topic at User forum 27 April 8 8

Appendix: Statistics Norway in the role as a «data processor» SN is allowed to do data processing jobs for other agencies SN already have the data that the Directorate of Taxes is allowed to use for their quality control work Scrutinizing population register data reveals errors or at least suspicious cases Statistics Norway regularly provides lists of people in non-institutional households > 7 members Tax Administration uses these lists as input to the control work May in the end result in decisions of emigration
