The Master Metabolism Gland & It’s Hormones Narrated by Sam and Ilyssa

Info Thyroid-stimulating hormone TSH = Thyroid-stimulating hormone Anterior Pituitary Gland Secreted by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland Chemical class - glycoprotein Stimulates the Thyroid gland

Info Homeostasis - Thyroxine helps control body temperature. This only happens if your body is at an incorrect temperature. A high TSH means there isn’t enough thyroid hormone, where as a low TSH means there’s too much

Info Hyposecretion- Overactive Thyroid / Hyperthyroidism Hypersecretion- Underactive Thyroid / Hypothyroidism

Info Analogy: The heating system in a house turns on when the house’s temperature drops below the set heat.

Woo Info (Thryoxine[T4] / Iodothryonine) thyroid gland located in the neck regulated by TSH amino acid regulates metabolism

Info affect protein synthesis regulates long bone growth neural maturation increases the body’s sensitivity to catecholamines (ex. adrenaline) increase heart rate

Info Hyperthyroidism:a syndrome caused by an excess of circulating thyroxine, triiodothyronine, or both. Affects 2% of women and 0.2% of men lose weight quickly fast heart beat sweat a lot feel nervous or moody

Info Cars. Need gas to run. The speed of the car depends on how much gas is let in the engine to be burned. The more gas, the more the engine revs. The carburetor is the parts of the car that controls the amount of gas going to the engine, telling the engine how high to rev.
