‘The Tenants’ Matt 21:33-46

‘See I will send my messenger who will prepare the way before me ‘See I will send my messenger who will prepare the way before me. (John the Baptist). Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire will come, says the Lord Almighty’. (Jesus).

1. The Parable

‘When the chief priest and Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them. They looked for a way to arrest him.’

2. The Blunt Warning

‘He will bring those wretches to a wretched end’.

‘And he will rent the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time’

‘Therefore, I tell you that the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.’

3. The Awesome Cornerstone

‘The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone The Lord has done this and it is marvellous in our eyes.’
