Why SLE Tracking? Ordnance Assessments (OA) are a means by which CAD/PAD engineers evaluate the performance of a CAD or PAD over time and provide an assessment. This assessment may include a recommendation for Service Life Extension (SLE) based on performance International Partners have voiced concern over the length of time it takes for an SLE recommendation to return after the initial request The Program Office is concerned as well and has implemented a process by which the SLE can be tracked from request to extension(s)
SLE Request Form Used to collect the information necessary to process an SLE request Developed using the NAVAIR 11-100-1.1 Technical Manual as a guide Versatile enough for all platforms Data imported into the Tracking Sheet for greater Program Office oversight Plans are in work to improve and streamline the SLE Request Form and Tracking Sheet
SLE Tracking Sheet All information from the SLE is captured into the Tracking Sheet Allows for automated SLE importing with a couple clicks of a mouse Allows the administrator to refresh remaining days to SLE need, insert comments, and sort/filter columns as necessary
SLE Tracking Sheet Continued Rows are colored based on days remaining to SLE need Administrator can archive or delete record based on status requirement A unique Request ID number is generated for each SLE imported into the Tracking Sheet
Importing Process Choose Validate Import File
Request ID Number Created during the import process Unique 3-part system generated identifier (e.g. US-17090-141354) 2-character customer code 5-digit Julian 6-digit, 24-hour time stamp SLE Request Form is renamed to the Request ID Request ID stamped on SLE Request Administrator and customer communicate with the same ID Maintained when archiving record
SLE Record Archive Allows the administrator to move a record from the awaiting SLE request tab to the SLE recommendation tab once response is received Administrator must enter the approved extension date or leave blank for denied extensions The record is then moved and colored based on days of remaining extension
Key Takeaways International Partners are concerned over the length of time it takes an SLE recommendation to return after the initial request The SLE Request form was developed using the NAVAIR 11-100-1.1 Technical Manual and modified to accommodate International Partners Properly entering the required SLE data allows the Program Office to import, monitor, and effectively communicate with the engineers in an effort to reduce SLE recommendation delays Future developments of the SLE Request form and Tracking Sheet will address International Partner concerns and allow country-specific reports to be generated
