Deuteronomy 32:3-4 A Beautiful Mess “Ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.”

God is Faithful A Beautiful Mess Psalm 25:10 “All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful Toward those who keep the demands of His covenant.” Psalm 34:4-5 “The word of the Lord is right and true, He is faithful in all he does The Lord loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of His unfailing love.” Psalm 36:5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.”

Moses was Faithful A Beautiful Mess The people demanded meat in the wilderness (Numbers 11) There was a problem over the use of the gifts of the Spirit (Numbers 11) Criticised by his own family over his marriage (Numbers 12) 10 of the 12 spies discouraging the people and getting them to disobey God (Numbers 13) The grumbling, complaining rebellion of the whole nation (Numbers 14) Death threats (Numbers 14) Mutiny of the key tribal leaders (Numbers 16)

Paul was Faithful 2 Corinthians 8:20-21, A Beautiful Mess 2 Corinthians 8:20-21, “We are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.”

What is Faithfulness? Being trustworthy and dependable A Beautiful Mess Being trustworthy and dependable Exercising this trustworthy behaviour over a long period of time Faithfulness is the character of somebody you know you can rely on all the time!

You and Me? Can God’s people be trusted? Sadly, not much. A Beautiful Mess Can God’s people be trusted? Sadly, not much. Jesus continues to call for faithfulness among His followers. “Well done, good and faithful servant”

Faithfulness & You & Me? Commitment and perseverance. A Beautiful Mess Commitment and perseverance. Denying yourself and taking up your cross daily. Keeping going to the end. Having God’s priorities Doing what Jesus says Knowing what the right thing to do is and then doing it. Handling money is a big part of this.

Faithfulness A Beautiful Mess When we display the Fruit of the Spirit it always points people to Jesus and proclaims the Gospel, proves that the Gospel is real and powerful and true. Titus 2:10 “Do not steal from them, but show that you can be fully trusted (faithful), so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Saviour attractive.”

Faithfulness Unwavering life-long Faithfulness A Beautiful Mess Unwavering life-long Faithfulness to Jesus. to the Bible, to the Gospel, to the church and to the work God has given to each one of us to the mission of God in the world. Faithfulness means knowing what you believe, who you love and what you are committed to.

Faithfulness 2 Timothy 4:7-8 A Beautiful Mess 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”
