 Talk about opposite adjectives.  Describe clothes.

ADJECTIVE + NOUN A RED SHIRT AN OLD DRESS LONG PANTS NEW SHOES That list shows the pattern of Adjective placement.

AA NEW SKIRT. AA CLEAN JACKET. AA LOOSE T-SHIRT BBROWN SHOES.

 The Adjectives do not have PLURAL FORMS. The noun becomes plural but the ADJECTIVES remains unchanged. A red shirt. A blue coat. Red shirts. Blue coats.

 Place “VERY” before the Adjectives.  Ex: The shirt is VERY dirty.

 DESCRIBE THE CLOTHES IN EXERCISE 1. FOR EXAMPLE: 1. NEW SNEAKERS. 2. __________ 3. __________ 4. __________ 5. ___________ 6. ___________ 7. ___________ 8. ___________

 ALLAN HAS NEW SHOES. ALLAN’S SHOES ARE NEW.  JOE HAS AN OLD JACKET. JOE’S JACKET IS OLD.

 A TIGHT SHIRT  CLEAN PANTS  A NEW SWEATER

 EX:  S1: ANA HAS NEW SHOES  CLASS: TRUE!  S2: THE TEACHER HAS SHORT PANTS.  CLASS: FALSE! SHE HAS LONG PANTS.

 USE SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE: QUESTIONS WITH WHAT COLOR, WHAT SIZE, WHY AND WHICH.  DESCRIBE CLOTHES.

 WHAT DO YOU NEED? I NEED A BLUE T-SHIRT.  WHAT DOES SHE NEED? SHE NEEDS NEW SANDALS.  WHY DO YOU WANT THAT JACKET? BECAUSE IT’S COMFORTABLE.  WHY DOES HE LIKE THESE PANTS? BECAUSE THEY ARE BROWN.  WHAT COLOR DO YOU LIKE?  WHICH SUIT DO YOU WANT? THE BLACK ONE.  WHICH JEANS DOES SHE LIKE? THE PINK ONES.

 Practice: a) What/Andrea/want. b) What/you/want. c) Which/ sweater/you/like. d) Which/suit/he/like. e) Why/you/like/those shoes. Wh-word + do/does + subject + base form.

 Work in pairs and make information questions with the scrambled information: What does _________want? Which ___________do you like? Why do you like __________________?

 Practice building sentences:  I think it’s nice, but it’s a little__expensive_  Shirt/loose  Skirt/short  Jacket/tight  Pants/long
