stock level projections Concept What is ViVa? an advocacy tool to visualize stock level projections and get alerted on critical situations objective is to be enable an early identification of potential stock outs and overstocking situations, so as to be able to take corrective actions in time

Launch of the pilot phase in 4 countries Pilot phase What has been done so far Design and development of the prototype tool for the following vaccines: Pentavalent, BCG, Measles, OPV, Rotavirus, Pneumococcal, TT, Yellow Fever Launch of the pilot phase in 4 countries DRC: national level + 1 regional level Niger: national level + 1 regional level Senegal: national level Philippines: national level Training of the government counterparts and UNICEF country offices staff survey to test the interest of countries for such a tool before scaling up / and going through further development

Success criteria established Pilot phase Feedback survey results Success criteria established Pilot phase results Is the tool visually attractive? 84% thought the tool was very visual Is the tool user-friendly and easy to use? 68% thought the tool was very easy to use, and 11% extremely easy to use How frequently was the tool used for monitoring purposes? Frequency not assessed via the survey, but via discussions. E.g. slides extracted from the ViVa tool are used during ICC meetings in DRC and Niger How frequently was the tool used for advocacy purposes How useful is the tool for monitoring purposes? 68% thought it was very useful and 26% extremely useful How useful is the tool for advocacy purposes? 53% thought it was very useful and 37% extremely useful How difficult is it to provide the information required to fill in the tool? Not assessed via the survey, but via weekly stock levels being provided; in 85% of cases provided in a timely manner. Is the weekly update sufficient?

ASSESSMENT OF INTEREST FROM THE PILOT COUNTRIES What’s next High level project timeline ASSESSMENT OF INTEREST FROM THE PILOT COUNTRIES PILOT PHASE: excel prototype developed and tested in 4 countries (2 of them including regional level) TRANSITION PHASE: presentation of the tool at regional meetings & others hosting of the current excel prototype on a web portal training to new countries development of quick win functionalities May 2014 Sep 2014 Q3 2015 To be presented at the 28th Intercountry Meeting of National Managers of the Expanded Programme on Immunization, taking place this November FINALIZATION PHASE: design and development of the online web platform taking into account country feedback addition of new functionalities extension to other products (esp. devices / safety boxes) training on the new platform at country level, regional level, or global level
