What is taught… 1. State And District Wide Standards 7/8th Grade Physical Education Content Standards/Unique collaborations with CSUSM, POLAR, Specialized Riding for Focus 2. Sport Skills (Specialized Riding for Focus,Dodge/Flee/Chase,Volley Skills, Ultimate Frisbee, Ultimate Football,Strike/Catch, Dribble/Pass/Score, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Hockey, Dance Track and Field, Lacrosse,…) 3. Fitness Skills (SUNS Gold, SUNS Silver and SUNS Bronze Standards, Lifelong Fitness Activities/ Polar GOFIT) 4. 2 or more days are always devoted to fitness. 5. Other days of the week focus on set units with fitness components embedded.

Grading… 50% Participation ●Be a Leader and follow all 8 Habits ● Always focus on achieving your Personal and Class WIGS! 50% Fitness/Skills Tests/Student Collaboration /Google Classroom and Written Work  

Classroom Expectations Lead by example Take responsibility for your actions Be honest Effort towards learning Pay attention and follow directions the first time given. Engage in all activities Be prepared and on time Put first things first. Attitude that is positive Be kind and encourage others. Actively listen, participate, and make eye contact. Cooperate with the teacher and classmates. Do the right thing Stop, think, and make good choices. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Respect other’s things. Engage in positive behaviors Think win-win Give your best effort Stay on task Respect others Synergize Use positive words and body language Seek first to understand Respect differences Accept and respect everyone           

Medical Notes… If your child cannot participate in the daily Physical Education activities, they must bring a parent or doctor’s note (Good for 3 days) to the health office before school starts.

What if students are absent? Complete 2 laps at the track upon return. *MOST FORGOTTEN PORTION OF GRADING!

PE Uniforms Will be sold during the first few days of school, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, in PE class Cash/Check is preferred or online under Spirit Ware, Athletic wear (PLEASE BRING RECIPT) https://sunsspiritwear.myshopify.com/ ·        Uniform (cotton shirt/short): $15 ·        Shirt/short (sold separately): $8 each                  Uniform ( Dri fit Shirt/ shorts): $18 ·        Dri fit shirt: $10 ·        Sweatpants (optional): $15 ·        Sweatshirt (optional):  $20  *A substitute for the Double Peak School Physical Education uniform is Texas Orange shirt or  Dark Gray shorts.  Please write your name on the clothing that you bring to school. Turning a shirt inside out does NOT make it a plain t-shirt.  

DPS ATHLETICS Sports Fall Flag Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country Winter Boy’s Basketball Spring Coed Soccer, Girl’s Basketball, Track and Field Bike Club Student handbook and Sports Physical must be completed before each sport located on athletics website.
