Greek Mythology A way of life that many citizens of Ancient Greece lived by. Explained what everything was and why it was there or happened. Contained many different gods, goddesses, and many other mythical creatures.

Quick Facts about Greek Mythology Today The famous symbol of Nike shoes is a check mark. Few people know that it really represents the wings of the goddess Nike, after whom the brand is named. Nike is the goddess of Victory. It is said that during a battle, whichever side of the battlefield she would fly over, that army would be the victor. Starbucks' logo is a very common sight. However, the logo is a Siren. Sirens came from the Odyssey. They were known to have a hypnotic voice that lured sailors to their deaths. The mascot of many universities, including California State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is the same as a famous group of mythological characters. The mascots are mainly Titans from Greek mythology.
