Worship God! Rev. 19:10

What is Worship? Webster: reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power; also: an act of expressing such reverence Other associated words or phrases: pay tribute to; honor; show respect; praise; adore

What are the Worship Services? An Opportunity to be in the presence of God! Matt. 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Ps. 122:1 I was glad when they said to me Let us go into the house of the Lord.

What kind of people does God want to worship Him? John 4:23 – willing to worship in spirit and truth Col. 3:1-3 – mind is set on things above Rom. 12:1 – willing to sacrifice Mark 12:30 – love God completely! John 5:37-42 – willing to come to Him

Who or What Do I Really Worship? Jesus is all the world to me I have a mansion just over the hilltop. I want a gold one (mansion) that’s silver lined!

Worship is NOT About Me! The creation is not be worshipped Rev. 19:10 – heavenly being wouldn’t be worshipped Acts 14:8-15 Paul and Barnabas wouldn’t accept worship Prov. 16:4-5 – Lord made all for Himself

Worship IS about God! The Creator IS to be worshipped! Col. 1:16 – all things created for Him Rev. 4:8 four living creatures worship God day and night Rev. 4:10 twenty four elders fall down and cast THEIR crowns before God praising Him! Rev. 5:8 four living creatures and the 24 elders fall down before Jesus Rev. 5:11-14 many angels, 4 living creatures, 24 elders, every creature in heaven and on earth praising the Father and Jesus

Praise Given to God Rev. 4:8-11 Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty Glory, honor, thanks Cast their crowns before the throne You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power

Why God was Praised Rev. 4:8-11 Who was and is and is to come! Created all things They exist by His will

Praise Given to Jesus Rev. 5:11-14 Worthy to take the scroll and open its seals Worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing! Blessing, honor, glory and power

Why Jesus was Praised Rev. 5:11-14 He was slain and redeemed us to God by His blood He has made us kings and priests to God

How Does our Worship Compare? Matt.6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

We benefit (even though it isn’t about us) Realize who really is in control – Rev. 4:8,11 Humble us to be in the presence of the Almighty God! – Rev. 1:17, Is. 6:1-5, John 20:28 It’s why we were made - Ecc. 12:13

Conclusion Worship service is a time to be in God’s presence God wants spiritually minded people to worship Him Worship is about God – not us We benefit from worshipping God Ps. 96:7-9
