My Educational Philosophy is rooted in… …my personal experiences -as a student -as a father …my work with children - as a camp counselor - as a coach - as a teacher …my understanding of Child Development Piaget’s Stages of Cognitive Development Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development
I Believe…... …that every child can …that a child can not be given self-esteem. They earn it by over coming obstacles. …every child should be encouraged to dream big. …that a well meaning parent or teacher can do great harm to a child’s sense of self worth by not expecting them to work through a problem or tough situation. …that praise and accolades given frivolously undermine a childs respect for the adult who gives them. …that struggle provides the most meaningful growth. …maturity and responsibility (in people) are demand driven.
