Long-term orientation Puro is saving his salary, working hard and trying to be a manager because he want to marry the love of his life. While Todd is focusing on fast result he want to decrease the imp number to 6 and return to his country. This explain that Indian culture are more likely to save, prepare for the future and have long term plans and goals. As Hofstede notes, “Long Term Orientation stands for the fostering of virtues oriented towards future rewards”.(Hofstede: long term / short term, n.d.). While USA is a short term orientation which emphasis on quick results. Score: India got  score of 51  which shows a preference for a more long-term culture. While USA got score of 26% which shows they focus on short term results.

Low/high Context Asha got engaged to a man from her family when she was 4 years old and Todd was surprised and shocked how she agreed to do an arranged marriage because usually in USA they fall in love with some one then they marry the right person. This explain that Indian culture are high context culture which means they rarely marry outsiders while intermarriage has become more common on USA which means USA are low context culture

Individualism / collectivism Puro was surprised that Todd is not living with his family and he don’t see his family a lot. This explain that USA culture is Individualistic society which means personal needs and goals are prioritized and they supposed to take care of themselves and privacy is respected and valued. While, people in India are more collectivist nature with close ties between individuals. These cultures reinforce extended families and collectives where everyone takes responsibility for fellow members of their group. USA got score of 91 which shows why Todd live alone and he cares about himself. India got  score of 48 which is a culture with both collectivistic and Individualist traits.

Individualism / collectivism Todd was waiting Puro and he was upset, but Puro went to bring food for Todd. Todd yelled at him rather than thanking him because he was thinking about the work. This explain that USA culture is Individualistic society which means they tend to get the job done without developing any relationships. While, people in India are more like a collectivist culture which means they tend to care about each others even at the working environment. USA got score of 91% which shows why Todd was upset and he want to finish his work. India got  score of 48% which is a culture with both collectivistic and Individualist traits but in this example puro is from a collectivist culture.

Indulgence/restraint Todd went to MacDonnell's to eat cheese burger which contain beef but he didn’t find what he was looking for, because most of people in India they don’t eat beef because it comes from cow and they worship cows. This explain that USA culture is Indulgence which means people are free to eat what they want and they have no control in their desires. While in India almost 70 % are Hindu people and they value to not eat a beef because the cow is a holy animal and their actions and desire are restrained by social norms and religion. USA got score of 68% which is a Indulgence society. India got  score of 24% which is restraining society.
