AKPsi Gives Back Through our partnership with Help of Southern Nevada, AKPsi plans to make a difference in the lives of the residents of the Shannon West Homeless Youth Shelter. Keeping with our core value of Service, we plan to help the residents of the shelter by providing them the materials they need to be active participants in high school, vocational programs and college. Items needed include notebooks, notecards, composition books, pens and pencils, flash drives, and binders and folders. In addition to those school supplies, we are also collecting other items of need including alarm clocks, flip flops, travel size toothbrushes and toothpaste, reader eyeglasses. HELP of Southern Nevada's Shannon West Homeless Youth Center provides services for at-risk youth that are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. The Youth Center motivates residents towards reaching self-sufficiency by providing the training and skills to further their education, employment, social and life skills. The Youth Center is a residential facility for youth ages 16-24.

Chapters’ Convention Responsibility As outlined in the Board of Directors’ Statement of Policy Responsible for payment of event’s registration fees Convention Savings Plan Requirement: Registration fees are paid through four equal installments over a two year period. Contribute $150.00 per semester Responsible for sending at least a delegate and an alternate delegate In order to participate in the legislation discussion and vote in the fraternity officer election, your chapter must send at the very least two people to Convention; a delegate and an alternate delegate. This is outlined in the Board of Directors’ Statement of Policy: Attendance at the Chapter Congress Meeting and College of Leadership   It shall be the policy of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity that all student chapters have a delegate and an alternate delegate in attendance at the Chapter Congress Meeting and the College of Leadership so long as the “College” is held in the same week as the Chapter Congress Meeting; also known as the Convention. The payment of the registration fees associated with each event shall be the responsibility of each chapter. Payment of the registration fees for the delegate and alternate delegate shall be made in four (4) equal installments over a two (2) year period in accordance with a schedule established by the Chief Executive Officer. Each chapter shall contribute $150.00 per semester to a Convention Savings Plan set up and maintained by the Heritage Center staff. Failure of the delegate and alternate delegate to be in attendance at both events shall not relieve the chapter of the responsibility for payment of the registration fees. If the chapter registers and fails to have a delegate and an alternate delegate in attendance at the Chapter Congress Meeting and College of Leadership, or if the chapter fails to register, the chapter shall forfeit the entire Convention Savings Plan. If a chapter fails to send a delegate and an alternate delegate to two consecutive Conventions, the chapter shall be placed on probation upon the approval of the Board and may face charter revocation. Failure of Chapter Representation: Does not relieve the chapter’s responsibility of paying registration fees. Results in the forfeit of the entire Convention Savings Plan.   Results in probation and possible loss of chapter charter, if two consecutive Conventions are missed.
