Most cases are diagnosed when children are 6 to 12 years old. Tia Hewitt (12013339) Overcoming Barriers to Learning and Participation

How many people have ADHD? This is what the National Institute of Clinical Excellence 2008 says about ADHD. "ADHD is a heterogeneous behavioural syndrome characterised by the core symptoms of hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention. ADHD is thought to affect between 3 - 9% of school age children and young people in the UK (up to one child in a class of 30)" This is why we are seeing more and more children in school diagnosed with autism – and this is likely to continue to grow.
