Please Note: This presentation is NOT meant to turn you against any of your religious or evolutionary beliefs. It simply compares and contrasts the two topics on the origin of the universe which are Creation and Evolution. Also note that certain examples in the presentation are included based on various opinions, and are meant to provide more understanding of points, and not the topic itself.

The Topic, The problem

Creation The Creation Story: Our very first ancestors were a very first male and female, created by God, the all powerful Supreme Being, and that God made us whole, in body and spirit, as full and modern Human beings.

Creation, cont. Christianity: God created the world, created man, created all other things at once. Islam: God created the world, created man, created all other things at once. Deists: God made earth, but leaves it to run on its own laws and rules. Complements evolution theory a bit. Atheists: God is a myth, there is no God?

Where, when creation story is true: Faith: The belief in evidences hoped for, things we hope for are true and will come true even if we have no proof of them. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. Blind Faith? When we do not understand what we are hoping for.

Evolution The Evolution Theory: all animals today (including man) descended from a single ancestor or organism. Differences in species due to the change in characteristics of organisms to enable them survive in nature. Via reproduction, we are able to pass down these characteristics to successive generations of offspring.

Evolution, cont. Explains the existence of similar characteristics between different species of animals (Including humans). Natural Selection: More offspring are born than can survive. Traits vary amongst individuals and organisms. Traits are inheritable.

GOD? Definition? God : the perfect and all-powerful spirit or being that is worshipped especially by Christians, Jews, and Muslims as the one who created and rules the universe (Merriam Webster) (In Christianity and other monotheistic religions) the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being (Oxford Dictionaries). Common sense: Spirit (Non – material) All - Powerful Eternal
