Focus: 10/24 In the 19th century, nationalism had a powerful impact on Italy, Germany, and the Austrian and Ottoman Empires. Sparked by the French Revolution and Napoleon, nationalism is defined as a strong love and loyalty towards one’s nation. Nationalists often rally around a common language, culture, and history. Nationalism was a unifying force in Italy and Germany, while it created a great deal of division in the Austrian and Ottoman Empires. Point for Discussion: Name the nationalists in Italy and Germany.
