Creating Essential Questions

Why Create Essential Questions? To make the summarizing process easier. To ensure that you properly understand the purpose of the day’s lesson.

What To Do If There Is No Essential Question Be proactive: Ask the teacher: “What is the one question that I should be able to answer after today’s lesson?” Be friendly and non-confrontational. Make sure it’s when they are not busy. Convert the day’s Standard into a question.

Let’s Practice English RI-910.1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
