School of Nursing Two pre-licensure options for entry to the UCLA School of Nursing are available: 1) Pre Licensure BS program for freshmen and transfer students, and 2) Master’s Entry Clinical Nursing for students who have completed a bachelor's degree program in another field. For program deadlines, please refer to our website: http://nursing.ucla.edu. Please note that the UCLA School of Nursing only admits applicants to start in the fall quarter. We do not offer online, weekend or part-time programs of study.

School of Nursing MSN Degree - Masters Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN). The Masters Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) Program leads to a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. This program is designed for individuals who have a baccalaureate degree in another discipline to prepare for a career in nursing. This is a two-year program.

School of Nursing Post-licensure Programs MSN Degree - Advanced Practice Nursing/Post-licensure program for RN’s with a BS in Nursing. The M.S.N. program offers a variety of specialty options (Adult/Gerontology Acute Care, Adult/Gerontology Primary, Adult/Gerontology Occupational and Environmental Health, Family, and Pediatric) for preparation of students in the clinical specialist and/or nurse practitioner role.

School of Nursing PM certificate - Post-Master's Certificate for Master's prepared RN’s. The Post Master's Nurse Practitioner Certification Program is designed for the master's prepared nurse who desires preparation as a nurse practitioner to provide advanced practice health care management.

School of Nursing PhD degree - Doctoral program for baccalaureate and Master's-prepared RN’s. The goal of the UCLA School of Nursing (SON) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree program is to develop the foundation of knowledge upon which the practice of the profession is based. The UCLA SON PhD program aims to develop nurse scientists who can conduct research and generate theory that incorporate the influence of the biologic, psychosocial and physical environments on health and healthcare. Areas of focus and interest include, but are not limited to: health of diverse and vulnerable populations, older adults, and persons with chronic and communicable diseases. Prospective students are encouraged to contact faculty to discuss your research interests.
