It’s Not all about me. We don’t often say it, but how often do we act like it? Luke 9:23, Gal. 2:20, Romans 6:5f

Some things that aren’t all about me: Salvation

Salvation isn’t all about me. John 10:14, 26 – Jesus knows His sheep. 1 Corinthians 8:3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him. John 3:16, cf. 1 Cor. 8:11 – Jesus died for me (and you). 1 Cor. 8:11 And so by your knowledge this weak person is destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. The very hairs of our head are numbered, Luke 12:7

Salvation isn’t all about me. Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14 “to the praise of His glory” Ephesians 2:4-7 “the exceeding riches of His grace” Ephesians 3:20-21 “to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus” We are sinners worthy of death. Our salvation is to the glory of God.

Some things that aren’t all about me: Salvation Worship

Worship isn’t all about me. The “worship experience” is emphasized. Upbeat and exciting music Uplifting message Casual, comfortable dress We are uplifted, exhorted and encouraged by worship, Hebrews 10:24-25

Worship isn’t all about me. We sing to God. Colossians 3:16b …singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. We pray to God. Matthew 6:9 Our Father in heaven,… We commune with God. 1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
