Of Social Sci. & Humanities is located Av. Berna. Information Management and Law School located in Campolide Residence!

Why did FLAD Choose the Study Abroad Model? Study Abroad vs Exchange Models Why did FLAD Choose the Study Abroad Model? Balanced Exchange Models difficult to maintain; Program Providers (often for-profit) are expensive FLAD has the mission, non-profit status, know-how, financing and contacts in the USA and PT to create attractive programs for the US student and faculty We pay fees in line with the new international student statute = more receita própria for our partner schools; We aim to extend our reach beyond Lisbon, but the concept made sense to test here first; Staffing limits at FLAD mean we may need deeper forms of collaboration from interested partners outside of Lisbon

Explica cada barro

In the first 6 semesters: Outcomes for PT In the first 6 semesters: Paid €249.000 in fees* to our partner schools, incl Sp18 (1500 ECTS); Supported 16 UCs at 100% cost, enriching offerings taught in English and open to Erasmus & degree-seeking students; 26 courses taught in Portuguese** frequented by SiPN students, diversifying the PT classroom (internationalization) Showcasing the quality of PT higher ed to the North American student candidates for Masters & PhD Rapid growth in Faculty-Leds  larger exposure of PT in USA 45 internship programs completed global talent exposure for PT biz Student satisfaction yes = inter-cultural learning assessment??

Limitations & Challenges American undergrads not same as Erasmus! Need much more support; US schools require high levels of responsibility, rapid response times pref for program providers, faculty-leds, and foreign campus model, etc. More Soc Sci & Humanities classes needed in English (not many at Licenciatura level) Efforts to increase US degree seekers in PT must address recognition in US labor market of 3-year Bologna Licenciatura vs. 5 year Mestrado vs 4-Year US Undergrad models
